As she approached him, he saw the tears falling down her cheeks. He turned full to face her, and without even realizing what he was doing, he reached up and gently wiped them away with a finger.
His voice was quiet, much quieter now than before, "Such a pretty face should not be stained with leakage." Damn, that was almost romantic. Just one hex bolt shy.
He led her into the next room. It was living quarters. An old bunk bed was pushed against the wall, regulation white with scratchy blankets and army-issue flattened pillows. But on the other wall was a large King size bed, the frame underneath removed and the box spring as well. Instead there was a large mattress, covered with cotton sheets and a black blanket. Why did this matter? Because Levarin is a heavy muther-fugger, and clearly a frame or box spring would only collapse under his weight.
To the side was a kitchen, with three refrigerators, four ovens and stoves, and a long counter with much more kitchen appliances and utensils. A door led to a pantry in the next room, which was no doubt stocked full of freeze-dried rations and bottled drinks. The kitchen was at least clean and clearly recently used.
On the next wall near another large door were much more modern computer terminals, large screens displaying the surrounding area and beyond, radar images, and satellite images. One terminal in particular was intently hacking away at a Tower laptop which sat on the work desk.
Finally, the fourth wall led into a conference room with a large table and a long glass window looking into the living space. A government seal from a long dead society adorned one of the three walls inside, behind a podium with a similar logo. Everything was covered with white blankets, though.
In the middle of Levarin's little abode were some comfortable chairs and couches he'd clearly salvaged from somewhere else, along with old bookshelves with only three shelves, but packed full of old tomes, some reference, some not. A lone reading lamp stood on duty behind the largest of the comfy chairs.

*Amorshka was surprised to feel Levarins finger on her flesh, wiping away her tears. Not only was she surprised by the fact that she had tears to be wiped away in the first place, but the fact that she did not flinch away from him in the process was equally perplexing. Had she the strength or the energy to worry about it, she would of probably done so. Instead she nodded bleakly at his comment and followed him into what were clearly his living quarters.
Her eyes went to the two beds and she felt her body began to ache at the thought of lying down; closing her eyes and making the world disappear – even if it was for only eight blissful hours. Looking around the rest of the room, she took him at his offer to make herself at home by sinking into what turned out to be a rather comfortable chair.
Looking at him expectantly, Amorshka sighed deeply.
~Now what?~ she asked in a robotic monotone.
Glancing around, she was surprised by the sheer number of kitchen appliances, and equally surprised to hear her stomach growl in response.
~Mmmm…~ she muttered outloud. ~What’s for dinner?~ *

Levarin shrugged at Amorshka's question as he sat across from her. He only sat at the edge of the seat, elbows on his knees. He had no idea what to do now. She had denounced The Tower, but had she broken control? He wasn't sure how he could check. If she hadn't truly denounced The Tower in her heart, then nothing would happen and eventually she'd go back to work for them...but if she had broken control, it was likely they would come for her.
At the mention of food, he nodded. "I have a supply of food for various tastes. What is...what would you like?"
He stood to go over to the kitchen, then looked back at her. "There are restroom and bathing facilities through those doors," he motioned to the second set of large double doors. A smaller normal-sized door was in the middle of one of them.

*Amorshka turned around slightly to look at the doors he had indicated. Nodding to show that she understood, she shrugged in response to his question as to what she would like.
~Well, I am guessing you don't have any O negative on supply.. so whatever you have will be fine..~
She settled back into the comfortable chair and watched him work. It always pleased her to see a man in the kitchen, waiting on her, even one as strange as this "man". As she watched, her eyelids grew heavier and heavier and although she tried her hardest to stay awake, the stress of the last few days caught up with her and she was soon fast asleep.*
