'From within the deep, shadowed recesses of his hood, the older ranger nods, just enough to let the hood move to show the sign he heard what was said. He reaches into his pack and pulls a small ring from one of the many hidden pockets and compartments, handing it to the boy. It's rather dull and plain, worn even, but the catseye gemstone is a clear sign of it's function to those in the know. He hands it to the boy, whispering low to him.' For your service to your master, may it aid you in the coming hours and years of your life boy.
'Most would fawn over such a ring before putting it on, giving him the moment or two it takes for him to simply disappear into the crowd again, this time looking for the Queen or her bodyguard, knowing no Royalty would ever go anywhere without one close by their side. oddly enough, his hawk, Imowen, who was perched on his shoulder mere moments ago, managed to disappear herself, flying off towards the river entrance to check things out for her master. The beautiful avian creature glides easily, a true master of flight in action, a rare specimen of her powerful hunting species, her keen eyes finding, after afew minutes of searching, the boy's master, swopping in low to get his attention. Sabis, meanwhile, has spotted Moridanu, and makes his way, again using the crowd to cover his route, towards her. He suspects that being as young as she is, her guard captain likely is trying to tackle this problem himself instead of letting her know, a mistake that could prove fatal.'
(The ring allows the wearer to see like a cat does, so dark or light he'd have excellant vision just in case the boy becomes important somewhere in the story)
