Hello my peoples! ;D While BB is in the process of creating a new site to compliment this one, I was wondering if any of you have any new plot ideas you would like to pitch to everyone. While most of us are busy with our current plots, we have had quite a few new arrivals seeking RP but they are not sure where to start. While we can encourage them to join existing plots, it can be a daunting task so perhaps we should start up some new plots? Two ideas I have had in the past would be ones I would like to explore again. The first one involves a luxury cruise ship that crashes, sinks, and then spews the few survivors onto a deserted island. The second is set in the Wild West and centres around a family of people who are working a gold mine but unleash a strange earth demon / evil mojo that threatens to destroy their entire town. I would prefer for other people to pitch their ideas and develop their own plots, but these two ideas of mine could be fleshed out and developed if need be. I realy think we need some sci fi element here at Morthika, but as that is not my forte' I would need those of you who are that way inclined to think of a possible plot idea and pitch it here. Let me know what you think my lovelies! ~Mori

Just chiming in to say that I support this, seeing as I am one of the confused noobs here :-) This seems as if it would fix the problems I'm having with starting up here.
Any plot seems fine, it's just that joining one now seems to be a very daunting task and I think the process might be helped if there could be a new plots where people like me could possibly learn the ropes.

We already have a sci-fi. Have you seen Dark Side of the Moon in Randomville? My idea, of course.
It's about a mission is space that goes through a crash landing and lands on the moon, where thay can't contact anybody. Sort of your desert island one, just spacish.

Hmmm....
New plots I think are a good idea for those not content to just "jump in". Even I have a difficult time joining up on an existing plot because the idea of reviewing most of the posts to catch up is daunting. Piloting a brand spanking new plot for new members is a great idea to let them all integrate themselves at Morthika without having that feeling like you're at the school dance and no one is looking your way.
I personally like the idea of a Wild West horror type RP because the genre is surprisingly neglected. Westerns, that is. Small dust-eaten town with a tavern and a major plot point about a family who unleashes some ancient, unspeakable hell... That's a ringing endorsement for me.
On the issue of Sci-Fi, Tak has a plot already about being marooned which covers more contemporary sci-fi. For a sense of "high science fiction" on the level of routine space dog fights, capital ships that use more power than the planet earth, and weird aliens which look like minorities with bones glued to their foreheads, that domain still remains ripe for the picking.
In other words, grossly unrealistic sci-fi is still an option. And if any of you read the above and thought Star Trek or Star Wars, I actually made that description with Buck Rogers in mind.

I was going to include aliens later... after all the human drama on the moon.

I think I'm gonna just post all over the place in search of some RP. I have an idea, that being I have a world in mind, but I don't really have a specific plot in mind. On the other hand, the world is rife with conflict, so I'm sure there are possibilities. I was wondering if anybody would be opposed to the introduction of a new world into morthika seeing as how Morthika is a world in itself. Please, feedback, please!

I dont see how it should be a problem. Morthika is in itself its own world in the sense of the plot The War Between Light and Dark, but there are other worlds/realms that exist outside of Morthika if that makes sense?
Anyhoos.. happy to hear your ideas babe. Cant wait to see what you come up with.

Gurlin is now explained in history and started in randomville for any who want to join. It may be a bit rough now, but hopefully I can work out the kinks as I go...maybe? and I don't think I really started it well, but that's not for me to decide. Please take a look at least :-). Thanks

*clears throat and looks around all guilty like* Ummmm... BB and I have been talking... *grins* And... we realy REALY realy REALY want to try to start up the Wild West supernatural style Plot we had been discussing way back when. We have heaps of visitors coming to Morthika, and Im afraid they find the current plots just too daunting to join up with.. so new plots are always a good idea. Though I said there is no way in hell I could take on ANOTHER one.. I think I could FOR THIS ONE. Its been an idea of mine for a long time, and I would love to see it reach fruition. So.. lets toss some ideas around okay guys? Nothing is set in stone, so here are a FEW of the ideas I had.. Like I said before: One idea centres around a family of people who are working a gold mine but unleash a strange earth demon / evil mojo that threatens to destroy their entire town. This evil mojo could infect people, turning them into a type of demon, zombie or vampy thingy.. anything is possible. Another is that a band of vampires arrive to terrorise the small Wild West Town.. these vamps could also be linked to the whore house, to shadow an idea we previously tried to flesh out but failed due to lack of players. I also love the idea of the Pony Express, as I was a HUGE fan of "the Young Riders" TV show back in the day. I also loved Young Guns.. so something along those lines would be good as well.. with a supernatural thing thrown in to mix it up. Those are some of my thoughts for now. Gotta get to work now.. so let loose with your ideas guys and lets try to get something happening. *insert hopeful grin and puppy dog eyes here* ;D

Another plot we want to resurrect is the bootlegging one we had set back in the 1920's. morthika.proboards34.com/index.cg....play&thread=309Let me know if anyone that WAS involved is interested in starting back up, as well as any new players that might want to join in. Any characters are available including gangsters and gangster molls, singers, bootleggers, cops etc.. anything that would fit into that kinda lifestyle.

What about High Fantasy? It's a genre I have spent some time writing in, and I thought it might be fun to have other people writing with me. It's really easy to let your imagination take the lead and run with it.
Think "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" meets "Dragon Ball Z". Evil empires, courageous rebels, cutthroat mercenaries, all vying for control of the land. Heroes and villains so mighty that they shake the earth when they clash. Magic and technology working seamlessly together to create reality-altering effects.
High Fantasy is a whole lot more than I can describe at this time, but if you can imagine it, you can do it. If people are actually interrested, I'm willing to provide a backdrop...

Well Morthika general, is High Fantasy, so the world of Morthika, the country and realm itself is considered high fantasy, where everything in the war takes place.
Me and Hex breifly spoke about a high fantasy type plot, but as we're both incredibley busy i dont know if it would happen anytime in the near future.

Yeah, BB said it.. Morthika in general is a High Fantasy style of forum. Morthika, the land itself, as set out in the plot "The war between Light and Dark" is High Fantasy in all that you said BnR, though its more a medievil setting and doesnt realy lean towards high tech gizmos and gadgets. In that realm, we have nearly all you mentioned and its kicking ass as a plot. *grins* Considering its been going for well over five years now, Im suprised at just how well it is going.. However, Im happy for any new plot right now. In the past twenty four hours, we have had forty, YES FORTY guests check out Morthika, but not one of them has joined up. This thread is visible to guests, so I would like to ask any guest who is reading this thread that has decided not to join up with this kick ass site, WHY THE HELL NOT? I get that its pretty daunting to join up with the current plots, which is why we have started this thread, to discuss options for new plots and encourage newbies to join up with us. Morthika is a very small site. In reality, there are probably less than twenty active players here. We desperately need new players to become involve in all the cool RPing ideas we have here, so please.. if you are new, and you are reading this, give us some feedback to make this place more newbie friendly. ;D

Another plot idea: a desert planet. Some cataclysm or act of magic destroyed all of the oceans, seas, lakes, even the ice caps, at some point in distant history. With the water went vegitation and most types of flora, aside from cacti. The world is a ball of sand, with the rare oasis made possible by underground rivers and springs. Water has become more valueable than gold, and those that control the water control the world. Over the centuries, the world has adapted. Fur no longer exists in the animal kingdom (or, is rare in the extreme), replaced by scales and leathery hide. Sand-dwelling reptiles dominate the wilderness, insects grow to immense proportions, and perhaps some have gained sentience.
Mankind has changed, too. Bone has replaced wood and steel. Agriculture is rare, except on the estates of the rich and powerful. Man and beast alike are born with innate pscionic talents to aid in their survival. Magic has survived, but is forbidden to the common people because it destroyed the world. Some practice the Way of the Unseen, harnessing pscionic power into an artform. Nomadic tribes run the vast expanses between cities.
Okay, so I'm not sure where I'm going with all of this... I'll give it a rest now.
