*Moridanu arched a slender amber brow in response to the news that the school had many secrets, which she herself did not know. As a founding member of the prestigious school and its sole beneficiary, Moridanu sometimes regarded the school as her personal side project – a distraction from the war between light and darkness and the raging battle that was fought daily on the battleground of her emotions, with Crowe and ODK.
As she nodded to Talisen and slipped quickly out the door, she reasoned with herself that the school was exactly that – a distraction. She could not spare the time or the energy that was needed to govern a school of this size, especially with such a challenging curriculum. That was why she had handed the reigns to Talisen and had stayed on as merely another staff member. Her classes were such a joy for her that she made herself make the time available to teach her beloved students. Of course there were the times that she simply had to prioritise and during these times away from campus, she relied heavily on her young protégé Arianwen to fill in and teach her classes. There was no way that she could possibly know everything about the school now. So much had changed that she had to admit to herself that Talisen was right – there were secrets about the school that even she herself did not know. Shrugging her shoulders slightly, she tossed her auburn curls over one shoulder and bounced down the stairs.
Helganie, the head secretary was bustling around the office with a bunch of paperwork when Moridanu walked in. She looked up with a harried smile and dumped the load of paperwork on one desk before walking to another desk and picking up a smaller bunch of papers. Handing them over to Moridanu, she bowed and smiled before bellowing ~Ya’ papers ya assed fa ya lassans ya magasty!~ Given her deafness, Moridanu smiled broadly and yelled ~Thankye Helganie! ~ as she took the papers and slipped them into the folds of her skirt. Seconds later the papers appeared on the desk in her study where Drucilla had now reappeared and was stalking the scroll that Moridanu had just acquired from Talisens office. As the bundle of papers dropped onto her desk with a loud THWAP, Drucilla growled, puffed up her tail and leaped at the papers. Her claws were small but sharp, and soon the top layers of papers were ripped into tiny shreds. Full from her recent breakfast, and satisfied with the mess she had created, Drucilla yawned before settling herself down in the papers, making a nest for herself from her torn shreds. Rolling herself into a small ball of black fluff, she closed her green eyes and was soon fast asleep.
Meanwhile Moridanu was trying to relay Talisens message to Helganie. She had managed to get the list of all the students currently on campus, but was having more difficulty getting the key to the door that led down to the basement.
~A flea?~ Wha ya be naadin a flea for ya magasty?~
Moridanu rolled her eyes and spoke more slowly ~ No, Helganie.. a KEY for the DOOR to the BASEMENT..~
Helganie was now frowning in concentration while blushing in embarrassment. ~Ma appalagies ya magasty ma haring nat what it ased to be.. wha ya ba naadin a flea for a flaar in a casement? I sarry bat wa dant have fleas.. ~
It was only after Moridanu had written her request down and showed Helganie what she wanted, had she been handed the key as well as the promise from Helganie that she would call the Janitor Mr. Jasper herself and send him down to meet Moridanu in the basement. Smiling and nodding her thanks, Moridanu excused herself and made her way towards the door in the south of the building that led down to the basement.
Moments later, the brass key slid into the lock with a resounding click, popping it open and causing the old door to creak in surprise as it was suddenly opened. As a gush of cold, stale air rushed out to greet her, Moridanu sighed and muttered ~Looks like a bit of work t’be had Mori’m’girl..~before she pushed open the door and stepped into the darkness, her boot clad feet feeling before her for the first step down, and then the next. Stepping downwards into darkness was rather foreboding and she made the mental note to fix up some sort of lighting for the children should they have to be hidden down here.
Ten steps down, Moridanu heard a noise that was alien in the darkness - A sort of… slithering sound. The sound was too sinister and too loud to be something small and insignificant and as a chill ran down her spine, Moridanu was surprised to feel her skin break out in gooseflesh. Arching a brow, her brilliant emerald orbs glowed in the darkness as she called out
~Who be there? The Queen of Morthika demands ye declare yeself!~ *

Talisen smiled, surprised by Sehkem's methods, it was easier perhaps than his own, but the students would have to learn the hard way first, to attempt such magic without ones energies in the right place was dangerous for a sorcerer such as Sehkem it was easy, but for children…
Sehkem began to talk to the class, Talisen was impressed, he would make a good teacher, perhaps a little cold and rough, but nevertheless a good teacher. The Students nodded knowingly at Sehkem's display of pure and dark energy, the children scrambled behind there headmaster eagerly, peering around the folds of his cloak to stare in wonderment at the display of power and magic, it was a similar spell to the one performed earlier, but it was a little simpler in theory to create two separate elements and combine them then to alter two elements to form an ancient long forgotten element. As Sehkem unleashed his devastating energies the courtyard erupted with both negative and positive energy, Talisen put his hand up calmly, a sphere of blue energy wrapped it's self around the children and himself protecting them from the effects, they would have been safe at the distance they were, but both energies tended to make people nauseas, the balance was unnatural and foreign to peoples bodies. The Dust cleared and the blue sphere vanished, Talisen nodded and turned to Sehkem
"Thankyou Sehkem, wonderful work, we generally take things a little slower, the children had been learning the aquaflamma, ignis weeks before today, to attempt it themselves would be impossible and dangerous -"
A commanding voice called out from the children interrupting Talisen
"I can do it!"
Izzienbelle said stepping forward, Talisen's gaze turned to Izzienbelle, he simply stared however not saying anything, the young girl's look of defiance and pure stubbornness quickly left her face and her gaze turned downwards to her feet
"Forgive me sir Mage…"
She said shyly, Talisen nodded his head
"Thankyou Izzienbelle"
He said sternly before turning back to face the rest of the class,
"We have yet to attempt any sacrificial magic as of yet, as the magic as you know can be devesting both to the victims and the caster, you see a Battle Mages Sacrificial magic doesn't deal only in pain but much more… blood…"
He finished and the children looked at each other nervously, quivering,
"What's one of the most important things to a Mage?"
Talisen asked the class, much more timidly this time Izzienbelle raised her hand
"Blood Sir…"
She said quietly still not meeting the headmasters gaze,
"And what does a Mage need to protect when they have enemies and why?""
Izzienbelle continued.
"Hair and Blood because they can be one of the most dangerous weapons a Mage can have against another…"
Talisen nodded, smiling this time.
"Well done, Class you can continue practising your Cruor Curses now"
Talisen waved his hands and frogs appeared before each student so they could perform the 'blood letting' curse, the Frogs would vanish back to safety once the spell was a success, they were simple astral projections and not real.
Talisen stepped aside with Sehkem,
"Do you need more time my friend, or are you ready to make a decision, you were excellent, with a little refining you will make an excellent teacher, we need you at the Academy more now than ever, what say you?"

As the energy reached a high enough volitility it exploded, shooting forth both energies. The blast was located far enough away that very little energy was able to reach them, as always some still managed to succeed. He through his head back as the wind from the explosion made the braids on his hair sway and the chains rattle, he soaked up the neutral energy healing him slightly.
He almost laughed when the student said she would be able to control a magic that would rip and tear at her being. "Izzienbelle, is it? Do you honestly believe you could manipulate a magick that rips at the essence of a person let alone both? Here let me show you what side effects I experianced." He then walked over to Izzeinbelle, and removed his gloves to expose the burns on his hands. Then he turned his hands to the side to show how much flesh was missing.
"Do you think that at your young age and lack of experiance you could endure the pain, with out your concentration faultering, and hold the energy untill it was ready to be released?" He stared into her eyes harshly. "I'm sure you may be advanced for a student, but you have yet to practice even a simple sacrificial spell." His eyes softend and he lifted his gaze to the rest of the class then finaly to Talisen.
"If Talisen didn't have any objections, maybe I could teach minor sacrificial magick as an extra class, or maybe just to maintain your concentration when faced with pain. If things are going like you say, then we should prepare them the best we can. Yes Talisen, I will stay and teach here....but first what did you say to Moridanu before when you tried to hide the fact that you were employing magic? Also about the book you showed me....I couldn't read the writing persay, but a voice in my head seemed to be able to. If that makes any sense to you."

Talisen sighed, he did really like Sehkem, but he didn't like the winged man from taking over his class and reprimanding his own student.
"Yes thankyou Sehkem, I'm sure Izzienbelle learnt her lesson, you see with my students most of the time whole punishments can go with a single glance"
He said with a smirk, the children looked at each other nervously understanding exactly what he meant.
"If Talisen didn't have any objections, maybe I could teach minor sacrificial magick as an extra class".
Talisen shifted feet,
"Thankyou Sehkem, but I don’t think the children are quite ready for that, but when they are I will handle it"
Talisen said emotionlessly. He pulled Sehkem to the side as Sehkem spoke, turning around to the children for a second
"Practise invoking fire children, if anyone tries to set anyone else on fire again there will be serious repercussions…"
He said sternly, the children stifled their laughter as he turned back around to Sehkem and walked slowly side by side.
Talisen listened carefully as Sehkem quizzed him on the earlier magic he had hid from Sehkem and the book he had read. Talisen didn't say anything for a long time, no emotions present of his face, his eyes hidden from view.
"Sehkem… Magic is a dubious thing as I'm sure you know quite well… but I've been on this earth for many years, you'll learn to understand me undoubtedly as time goes by, but if I was to explain to you in detail ever charm and spell I invoke there will be no time in our lives for anything else. Trust that it was harmless and we shall not speak of it again."
He said simply with a hint of finality. He moved on quickly so Sehkem understood that there would be no further discussion on the matter.
"The book… hmmm the language is an unusual one, I've translated most of it but it took many years, perhaps you have a connection with the text, or the writing itself can sometimes employ arcane qualities with the right person… go through the book, see what else you can come up with, apart from that I have no other ideas… yet anyway…"
Talisen said with a twitch of his lip
"Welcome to the Avalon Academy Sehkem".

*Her glowing emerald orbs served as lanterns in the darkness as Moridanu slowly made her way down the steep dark staircase. Although the bright green light was only enough to illuminate the three steps in front of her, Moridanu was grateful for any light she could have right now. The slithering sound that she had just heard was now silenced as though someone or something was still, listening for Moridanu as she approached.
Finally the staircase vanished beneath her feet, replaced now by the hard rocky floor of the basement. One right corner of the basement was currently being used as storage by the Mr. Jasper the janitor, and it made sense that the noise had been coming from there. Moridanu however turned her brilliant emerald eyes to the left and peered into the darkness.
The basement ran the whole length of the south end of the building and was therefore quite large. It was because of this that Talisen had selected it for the purpose of housing the children, but its size now served as benefit for Moridanus’ hidden intruder. Walking slowly so that the bright green light of her orbs could penetrate the darkness in front of her, Moridanu took fifteen steps until she felt her right boot kick something that went rolling off into the shadows. A ten minute search proved fruitful after she bent down to pick up a long thin piece of purple chalk. Bouncing the chalk in her hand thoughtfully Moridanu continued her search of the floor.
Deciding not to walk directly ahead, she instead circled where she had been searching, this time moving towards the back of the basement instead of the left. A few minutes later she gasped in surprise as she came upon a large pentagram that had been drawn out in purple and silver chalk. Although the dripped purple and black candle wax at strategic points of the pentagram showed the earlier presence of candles, they had since been removed – leaving nothing but the chalk pentagram. The floor in the middle of the pentagram appeared mottled somehow and Moridanu peered down at the dark floor for a better look. The stony strong foundation of the school appeared to have a large burn mark that seemed almost engulfed by the jagging hole that ran around the edge of it. Frowning and chewing her bottom lip nervously, Moridanu paid closer attention to the pentagram. As well as the usual inscriptions to invoke the elements, Moridanu noticed some other stranger symbols and sigils. There was a symbol that even she herself did not recognise. A large diamond that was superimposed over two smaller interlacing diamonds. A small triangle encased by a larger circle was at the centre of the large diamond and Moridanu felt a sickening sensation start to form in the pit of her stomach. The other sigils she did recognise all symbolised snakes and creatures that crawl upon the ground. Just as the realisation hit her, she heard the sound again.
It was definitely a slithering sound, this time it appeared a lot closer to where she stood. Looking behind her quickly Moridanu jumped slightly as she saw what appeared to be over a hundred snakes slithering and hissing their way towards her. Gasping in surprise, she backed up quickly before running into something large and slimy. Turning around as quick as she could, Moridanu realised she had been too slow as something long and scaly whipped around her knees, knocking her legs from under her as she fell onto the pentagram. Dizzy and losing focus for a few moments, the light within her eyes dimmed as she stared up at the monstrosity that was now looming above her. It appeared to be a giant snake at first glance, its reptilian eyes glinting in the darkness while its long tongue snaked out of its mouth and trailed along her skin. As she struggled to move however, she realised that four strong arms were holding her firmly in place. The giant snake seemed to have no legs, only a strong fat tail that he used to stand up right on. Hissing in her ear, Moridanu shuddered as the snake thing said

Ruarc Voulchec was a young 18 year old boy.He wasn't normal in many instances. His father was a Fae Prince of the Unseelie Court. This gave Ruarc a bad side to him.His mother was a High Priestist of a national pagan sect known as The Cyrstal Blood Sect. She was a friendly person which made Ruarc also slightly friendly. He was torn between to worlds.Ruarc called Voulchec by his friends had powers deep down but they were all dark.
He was also unlike most of the boys in his town because he skipped his classes that his father had worked hard to get him in to and was tied up in a new popular thing. It was a weed that you could grow in your own garden. You chopped it up and then you sniff it.It gives you a strange feeling of being on top of the world.Voulchec was also tied up with scotch. He loved the drink. He was the bad boy of the town. And after his accidental use of his skills he was shipped to this weird and nefarious school in front of him.Did they think he would go to these classes. What damned daft people they were.
He stood looking up at the academy as he had a flash back of what brought him here.
His friends and him were at there usually place, behind the old goldsmith of the town.It looked like it would be a normal day.Sniffing that new substance and drinking his favorite scotch..But during their fun a a group of boys the same age from a town 64 furlongs away walked up.The head boy called himself Adamien. He said the spot was theirs and to leave or their would be a fight.
Voulchec had been here in this place since he was ten.Even though he didn't have the drinking and other problems. This place meant alot to him and he would fight for it.Also Voulchec was big on protecting his friends even if the on top of the world feeling just hit him.He stood up and started yelling at the guy in what seemed like gibberish but he was just unconisously repeating something he had heard his father say in his protective arena.
He just thought it was something cool to say.He thought it would make them slightly scared since they didn't know what he was saying. What he was actually saying was a speel that his dad couldn't even accomplish/
The boys from the other town and Voulchec's friends all started to scream.A black ribbon seemed to wrap around all the guys except Voulchec. The ribbon seemed to cut them all into pieces. The cuts were clean and smooth.Voulchec sobered up that day quickly.
He came back to reality and looked at the academy."Maybe this will help me control this damned curse."He stood outside the gates and study the beautiful gothic artwork put into the building.Soemthing he could acutally like.He checked his pocket to she if he had his chopped up weed.He smiled when he felt the canaster. He started towards the building. He stopped at the door and looked at it.It was huge and it surprised him.He stared at it in awe.

*~*The silhouette of a dark figure at first glance, she advanced upon the school from a long dirt road. Walking at what seemed to be a fast pace, she slowed down as she came upon the huge establishment. Her head towards the ground, she took long, gliding steps towards the castle. Being a height of 5’8”, her confident stride brought her closer towards the huge establishment. Nothing could be said of her figure or body type, for she wore a large black cloak with a hood. Even though her steps were long and graceful, it was obvious the cloak wasn’t tailored for someone of her size; the back trailed on the ground behind her, collecting dirt on the hem. Trying to catch a glimpse of her face only rewarded you with the sight of a small nose protruding from the shadows of the cloak’s hood; though of course it didn’t help that her gaze was directed towards the ground. With her hands set deep in pockets, she proceeded to walk amongst the other students. Not raising her head to glance at any of the strange faces she passed, she made her way towards the large front doors; the lack of sound from her steps implying that she wore no shoes.
Stepping into the castle, she slowly looked up, so as not to crash into anyone. Bringing up her hands, the sleeves of the cloak lid slightly down her arms, and to anyone who was watching, they could see 2 black silk gloves covering what should have been the exposed skin of her hands. To only the sharpest of eyes could the hilts of 2 sheathed blades be seen before she lowered her hands once more to return them to the pockets of her cloak.
The first thing brought to anyone’s attention would have to be the cascade of straight, dark brown hair that extended to her waist. The shiny strands caught the light of the room, causing your eyes to refocus before trying to take in any more detail. To anyone approaching her at the right angle, a dark scar was visible. Being about 3 inches long, extending from just below her eye to the tip of her chin, it was the only visible flaw to the face so full of beauty.
While she turned her way down a hallway, she wondered where she was to report to. The letter she received merely told her that she was invited to attend Avalon Academy, and that the new semester was beginning soon, so she began her journey. Having nothing delaying her arrival, she hoped she didn’t show up too long in advance, though it appeared her worries were wasted for there were many other students walking about the grounds.
Looking around, she stepped into a corridor, looking around for a teacher or some figure of authority to direct her to where she was supposed to go.*~*

Sehkem nodded as Talisen dismissed his offer for an extra class, he had merely been caught up in the moment. Although he for some reason trusted Talisen, he did not enjoy the fact that he would not answer a simple question. The main reason it got to him was that in a way his whole life, existence, and history were being with-held from him. Quickly Sehkem let it pass, there was no point in such feelings.
"Where will I be teaching? I would like to go and get more acquainted with the students, will I have time for that before I have to start classes?"
Sehkem then began walking toward the door, waiting for either directions or a guide.

"Where's that pocket watch?" ODK mumbled to himself. He was standing in the middle of a dark void, a swirling mass of stars around him, while he patted himself down and rummaged around in his coat. "I coulda sworn I put it right...over...here!" he grinned, finally grabbing hold of his prize. With a triumphant pull from the inner sanctum of his coat, the swirling mass of stars coalesced around his fist, and formed the dangling chain of a silver pocket watch hanging from under his fingers. He dangled it in front of his face for a moment, examining the peculiar draconic symbol on the lid, before smiling and shoving into his pants pocket.
With a sudden turn, he reached out and turned an invisible knob, and a thin sliver of light entered the void. With a theatric creak, the sliver of light turned into a rectangular doorway, revealing a plush meadow. Stepping into the lush, green grass, he gave a smile to the surroundings. To the naked eye, he simply appeared out of thin air.
Before him now stood the great campus of Avalon Academy. He gently sniffed the air, as the crisp autumn breeze brushed his nostrils. Catching his favorite scent, his face split with a wide grin, and his eyes wrinkled into mischievous slits. With a skip in his step, and a whistle on his lips, he bounded towards the school.
Moments later, he found himself staring down at a wrinkled old woman, shouting Moridanu’s name at the top of his lungs.
“Oh, Mori? You must mean Her Highness, Moridanu. She went to the basement. And please, sir, don’t swear so loudly, there are children here.”
His face beet red in frustration, ODK quickly spun on his heel and stormed off, fists shaking at his sides in fury. Oh, she might have though he was saying “damn you” before, but he was certainly thinking it now.
With little ease, he found what he presumed to be the way to the basement after asking for directions from several of the young students. They asked him questions in return, like, “are you a new teacher?” “who are you?” and “what are you doing here?” To which he answered all in the same way: “Never you mind, young’n. Where’s the basement?”
It took him several tries, as one could imagine.
At any rate, the chill, dank air was something he smiled at as he slowly descended down the steps. A little piece of home, almost. It even seemed complete with slithering snakes! Wait...slithering snakes? His eyes slowly adjusted to the darkness, doing their little trick of reverse vision, seeing shapes as reflections of shadow instead of reflections of light. It was like seeing the world as a negative image, and sometimes incredibly useful. After all, the deepest levels of Hell don’t have electricity yet, and are too damned cold to light a fire!

Voulchec's brillent golden eyes scanned the inside of the hgie academy. His eyes burned with a unforgotten fire.Anger and fear.He hated not being home.He hated classes. That is why he usually skipped his classes.
Even though he didn't like his classes he had no choice but to go to these ones. But first he had to find out what the hell his schedule was.First to do that he would have to find the principal or what ever it is called here.
He started walkingthrough the acdmey with a confident stride. His handsome face shone with an utter confidence. His slacks were tight around the waist and were perfectly black. His open necked shirt had lace around the cufflinks. It was blood red and satin.
His face was sharp and clean. He was a mix of a pretty boy and a bad boy.But the bad bo just shone through. He looked at the girls as he walked through and gave them dashing sexy smiles even the female teachers. He loved flaunting his looks to a point.
He walked confidently to a door that said administrator. He had a feeling that this must be Talisen's office. He knocked on the door loudly so Talisen would know he was there. He stood with his arms crossed over his pale muscular chest.

Talisen nodded at Sehkem's question, he turned his face elsewhere, as if he was sensing something. His head turned sharply and animalistic
"Hmm… um… your classes? Well that’s up to you, I can arrange a tour for you so you can get acquainted with the grounds, and you have the choice to pick your own classroom, your flight lessons will be in the grounds of course, but the choice is yours unless the rooms are already taken"
Talisen spoke to Sehkem but his mind was elsewhere,
"Now I must dash I'm afraid, you can have your first class now if you'd like, take my class, I have a feeling you'll have a few new arrivals shortly, as of yet you don’t have a class as most of the students haven’t arrived yet"
Talisen nodded a final goodbye, he held onto the edge of his cloak and in one twist of his body, he melted into the ground in an explosion of blue evanescent light.
With the same swirl of colour and motion Talisen appeared behind the newest arrival
"I believe your looking for me Voulchec?"
Talisen said simply, he was an imposing figure, arrogant and cold, his body was completely shrouded in the dark mauve material that covered his eyes, his hood was pulled low over his face so only the lower half of his face was exposed, his eyes were completely covered. Long thick tendrils of black hair spilled from the back of the hood that covered Talisen's face.
"Step lively boy, we have things to do"
Talisen said simply as he made his way into one of the main halls, he knew what he was looking for before he was there; he stopped at the figure of the cloaked girl. He ignored the twitching of his lips, now this one was different and powerful, in fact she reminded Talisen of himself
"Welcome to the Avalon Academy both of you, your enrolment has already been taken care of, let me introduce myself, I am Talisen last arch battle mage of Morthika and headmaster of the Avalon Academy, you will answer to me and my staff while you are at my school, I assure you will learn a great deal while you are here"
Talisen's cold features broke into a slight smile
"I think a proper introduction is on order"
He looked first at the talented girl who was shrouded in a cloak, he could feel both of their essence, the boy was strong, robust and brave, his essence spilled all over the place, their was no mystery, this would be his greatest curse, Talisen told himself. But the girl on the other hand had a mystery about herself even Talisen couldn't break through, she would make an excellent Battle Mage, while the boy would make a warrior, blunt and sharp.
Talisen could often fill magic in Avalon, in truth the school was nothing but magic, yet something was wrong, not what it should be, he could sense the dark magic, something was defiantly not right, After the introductions were complete, Talisen handed both the students a small map.
"Go here for your first class of the day, it's not a full class so you don’t have to worry, your teacher is Sehkem. Stick together"
He said simply and in another flash, the pair were alone.
((Not my best post sorry!))

Sehkem noted the way in which Talisen spoke, as if distracted. He decided to pay little attention to it, since it was most likely somthing he needed to tend to on his own. "Yes, a tour would help, unless you perfer if I wander on my own." As soon as he spoke Talisen was gone, to which Sehkem shook his head.
So I'm supposed to take over this class....I am to teach weapons and.....flight? How the hell do I teach some one with out wings to fly? I know there are spells for that but....oh well.
"Learning to use and control magick is certainly a useful talent, but you also need to learn to use conventional weaponry. That, is what I am here for. What weapons training do you have?" The class mumered incoherently. "I take that as no formal training." Sehkem then threw off his trench coat, it looked as though he just walked out of it. A few of the students murmered again. "We will start off with the Dagger..." One of the students spoke up "When will we learn to use those?" He was pointing to Sehkem's chained scythes. Just then two more students appeard, undoubtably Talisen's work.
Sehkem turned to face them, "I see you have met Talisen, the Headmaster. I am Sehkem, I assume you are two of mine? We were just discussing weapon training." Sehkem immediately noticed the males arrogance. Confidence is good, Sehkem thought but arrogance can get you killed. Then he focused on the female, she seemed much more reclusive, almost like Talisen.
"First we will be learning the dagger, learning how to use these..." Sehkem then drew the scythes, first holding onto the actuall handles letting the chains spin as he slashed with the blades. Slowly almost unnoticably he let his grip relax enough so that soon he was holding onto the chains causing the blades to spin around. With a flick of his wrists the scythes wraped around his torso making an "X." The blades slipped through their carrying ringlets perfectly. "Will come much later, you would first have to become proficient with both the whip and scythe among other things."
Sehkem then pulled a dagger out of his one of his boots, "First rule to using a weapon is that it is not a tool, but an extension of yourself." He then began teaching basic technique with the dagger.

Rayn walked up the academy steps with his flowing blue robes gathered around him. He had heard of this Avalon Academy, and he had at last found what he was searching for. A place that just might accept him. A place where he can hone his abilities. A place that may even be called home. Flicking his long blue-streaked brown hair out of his eyes, he took more hopeful steps toward the doors that were holding his future behind them.
He opened the doors and looked around at the marvelous creation of a school. He noticed a few new students, by the looks of them, and hurried forward to ask the....the HEADMASTER?!?!?! He hadn't even noticed those hard features were broke into a small smile. He stopped about 5 feet behind the other two people and stated "I'm here and I'm ready to learn", while trying not to look like he just barged in out of nowhere and look happy and jubilated at the same time.
Nobody new this, but he was ecstatic that he had found this place. Quivering with excitement, the only word that kept racing through his mind was one that he had never had a chance to say. "HOME"

*~* Standing there a bit awkwardly, she looked around the classroom. First at Sehkem as he pulled a dagger from one of his boots, then at the rest of the students. Noticing several pairs of eyes on her, she switched her weight from one foot to the other, slightly uncomfortable to be in a room with so many people she didnt know. Taking a step back, she took her hands from her pockets and reached back to bring her hood back up over her head. The hood once again covered her face and left her eyes to be hidden by its shadow.
Replacing her hands in her pockets, she continued to scan her surroundings as Sehkem began intructing that weapons we're more extensions of yourself instead of being a tool. Taking in only glances of the strange faces, she began to re-think her decision to come here.
Why did I have to leave home? Sure, there was no one there to talk to, but compared to this place, that could have been the lesser of 2 evils. Education cant be that important. I'm quite sure I could learn to teach myself...
Turning her attention back to the lesson, she took a deep sigh and tried to stop herself from thinking too much, since it only lead to her continuance of mistrusting everyone she came in contact with, and often kept her from making friends. *~*

*Wrinkling her nose in disgust as her flesh connected with the slimy scales of the snake demon, Moridanu muttered ~Ewwwww~ out the side of her mouth as she kicked and punched her way free. Although she did manage to shake his grip on his top two hands, he still held her waist firmly by his bottom two hands. Realising that she would need to use all of her resources, Moridanu closed her eyes until she was engulfed in darkness in her minds eye.
Feeling the vastness of the basement around her, Moridanu called on the shadows lurking in every corner to come to her bidding. She had to call heavily on her influence with wind, to encourage their participation at first, but once they were committed, the shadows converged to make a dark mass that consumed the snake demon and destroyed him almost instantly. Falling from his grip, she twisted her body to the left slightly so that she landed perfectly on her feet as he disappeared in a sea of darkness.
Although the slithering snakes around her did not diminish in size, they did disappear into the retreating shadows until she was standing in an empty basement once more, taking deep breaths to regain her composure. The basement now felt safe.. intact. And thankfully – empty. Except.. it wasn’t empty. As the presence of another was slowly seeping into her consciousness, Moridanu peered over towards the staircase, an amber brow perched precariously above one bottle green eye.*
