It finally strikes me that I have yet to actually really interact with anyone else in this story. Strange, heh? I've never really played in a message board RP, what's all this about "posting order" I hear people going on about? >.> I don't wanna go outta turn and muck things up.

It finally strikes me that I have yet to actually really interact with anyone else in this story. Strange, heh? I've never really played in a message board RP, what's all this about "posting order" I hear people going on about? >.> I don't wanna go outta turn and muck things up. Boston, typically when there is a group of people playing like there is in this plot, we try to keep some sort of order of posts, so it doesnt get too chaotic. For example if Player A says that it starts raining and he needs to seek shelter, then Player B would follow on by noting the rain and the need for HER to seek shelter, while Player C would already be in shelter and then reply by seeing player A and Player B coming towards the shelter and opening the door for them. If Player C jumped the queue and posted without Player B posting, they might screw things up by letting Player A into the shelter and then locking the door, so player B couldnt get in....... okay..... that was a CRAPPY example, but I JUST woke up and havent had any caffiene yet.. oh the perils of a Friday morning sleep in!  But hopefully, you get the idea? HOWEVER, we dont have to follow a particular order... Say for example, there are five players... three post and are waiting for weeks for the other two players to post. To keep things moving, I actually encourage the three players that have already posted to keep playing amongst themselves, while we wait for the others. The other two can always read whats happened in their absence and catch up when they get back. So.. the point.. yes there is one.. is as long as you are aware whats happening with the others in a plot, and keep that in your posts, then you dont have to stick to a particular order unless previously stated by the moderator of the realm in which you are playing. And that, like totally, made complete sense!  |
