Okay? That my guy was down there for a certain number of time, possibly a week or so? Well, is there any sort of way he would get some air in there that would probally not involve him getting out? Because if there is I am all for it.

Anyway, I think my character will be a former marine who eventually was invited to join a military specialist team before retiring as owner of a string of american dojos. If anyone wants to know what kind of organization, I am thinking something along the lines of Ghost Recon, if anyone is familiar. I lack real world knowledge so I am just gonna make up my own, though it probally won't play a big part in this. Anyone mind that?

But yeah, what kind of light will he be getting down there anyway?

Most underground bunkers, hideouts and labs come with filtered systems for recycling air. Likewise, any well-made escape tunnel is going to include a basic system to allow fresh air from topside.

As far as the character, he would need to be pretty old to qualify for those traits. Retiring from the Marine Corp usually happens 40-50 years old unless you're discharged early for medical or being a scrub, and then a "military specialist" could mean anything from a communications geek ro a demo specialist depending on the branch. Generally speaking, Marines don't leave the Marine branch if they're loyal, upstanding marines. They're too proud.

Lastly, a dojo? What kind of dojo? Owning a single dojo takes some considerable experience and cash, let alone a string of dojos.

So he has a monopoly on your inner dojo? What do you have to say to this?

Well anyone can claim to have someone else's dojo, but it's never anything but a complete fallacy. Like when I tell foreigners that I'm king of America.

Now, if I were to sign a legally binding contract handing my inner dojo over to him, that'd be a different story. That's where what you said about having the cash comes in, see, I'm not giving it away for cheap.

My inner guys are learning kendo.

I don't know Duress, why would I sign anything away with her on top of me? They charge extra for weird things like that.

As for the lab.. basically what Goober already said, goes for me. Some sort of filtered system that recycles air would work, which Im planning on running on an emergency generator that would also supply juice to the lights and any medical equipment we may need to use to find our "cure".

To everyone else already involved in this plot, I'm itching to get things moving. Kudos to Boston for posting in such a speedy reply to my post, and a gentle cattle prod to everyone else. Boston and I were recently discussing things, and he suggested we wait about two weeks for everyone else to reply before I post again. Would that time limit work for ya'all?

Alright, he can be that old. I was thinking young but being an old veteran might be cool.

But yeah, I dunno about the whole marine pride thing, but I think that he could very well be on a elite like squad. Not saying he would be able to dodge bullets like int he matrix, but he could aim and shoot mighty quickly before he gets hit. But since he is old maybe his reflexes aren't so up notch.

Also, when I mean Military specialized thing, I meant more along the lines of being part of a special military division that is called upon to perform special missions. A crude and possibly incorrect example: A rebelion is taking place in a country and the Rebels have certain weapons that could be a threat to the US. US wants those rebels out of the picture but don't want to sully their hands, so they send in a squad of well trained warriors to undermine the rebels while making it seem like the US isn't directly interefering. Basically, they perform special operations that standard soldiers may not be cut out for. Actually, that just gave me an idea.... I'll think on it later though. And I may just go for the Army to just hold back on the whole headache of marine pride.

Okay, maybe not a string of dojos. Once more, I lack the finer points of real life info, and probally not a single dojo either.

Air filtered system sounds good! But what kind of light, if any.

Guys, i'm sorry to say, i'm pulling out of this plot, I'm really sorry for anyone who was depending on me, but with school and work and new plots i'm planning, i just cant stretch myself with a character and a plot i'm really not that into.

Sorry again, i think it's best we just ignore my character, he's in the tower somewhere, but you know... lets do a Richie Cunningham older brother...

Of course any respectable top secret underground lab would come equipped with generators, and back-up generator upon back-up generator, in case the power went out. I'm pretty sure the power in the city's still on, so everything that wasn't knocked over and gnawed by zombies would still be functioning. It'd keep the air system running and the blast doors down. And all the floor lamps on.
