Long ago, the lands of Fable and Abyss were easily traversible by any traveler. The lands were considered free for all, but this is long before humanity had found its way across the sea, and the animals and early races. With the traveling of humans to Abyss came the intermingling of races and people, the forming of habitations and towns, and ideals. Rulers emerged, proud and strong; good leaders of a good land. But as people collide and merge together, opinions differentiate, and conflicts emerge. And things in Abyss took a turn for the worse.
With the rising of the warlords, and the opposition to his leadership, Abyss and Fable became separate, and thus founded and defined. All who opposed were expelled to the northern lands which would soon be known as Fable, while Abyss in the South continued to modernize, grow and prosper in its own sphere. Fable developed and taught its own views and ways.
In Fable … The leader of the group pulled them all together, encouraging and empowering them. Rising up as the Guardian of Sages, he appointed fellow Sages to help him watch over the lands peacefully, and make sure each one of them was honest and in check with the land. The town of Fable was founded and built in the center of the regions, as well as the schools teaching a more modest, sparing use of magic in most common situations, while carefully teaching combat and self defense. In their view of things, magic was something to be used when needed, not something thrown about willy-nilly. The Warlord had seemed to encourage reckless unchecked magic, and evolving ones power without teaching the same collective values.
In Abyss … The people of Abyss used magic, but were not wary of how often or for what they used it. Schools opened to teach the art of magic and its use in the world, and how to use it well. The school also taught common day education, such as reading, writing, math, science and the like – something brought over and emphasized originally by the human race, and then simply taken from them entirely. With a modern education and strong teaching of magic, Abyss would be great and undeniably superior to the surrounding lands and their people. Sooner or later, they would want to become citizens themselves.
People can use their characters in both Fable and Abyss, as well as carry characters over from other sites as ‘visiting characters’; if using a character from another site, little tweaking is required, as well as little pondering over making a new character. Feel free to bring characters over from other active or dead sites of yours, or to make a new one for use in Fable and Abyss! Choose where your character comes from, and what suits them best, and prepare for the journey of a lifetime. Participate in tournaments with your characters, play out exciting plots and help prevent or encourage the dispute between Abyss and Fable today!
