The Song touches us all in different ways, those of us it decides to claim. I've heard it described as sweet and haunting. I've heard it described like a marching anthem that made the limbs tingle when a Soul got close enough to the Slick. I've heard it described with all the poignant weight of a song that used to be "your song" with an old lover. The Song is different for everyone, but when it slides into you, it's there. It's in you. It's part of you. And it won't stop until you've seen the Slick.
Some of us never get there, can't get there on our own. Some of us always hear it. I think it's a little bit like dying in the middle of sex, right before you're about to come... so very, very close to that one single thing that you need to have. But maybe it might not be so bad to go, having gotten so close.
That's an optimistic way of looking at it. In the middle of sex or not, you're still a corpse before you get what you need.
It'll come for you. I can see it in your eyes, and I think that I hate you for it. ... bitch... It'll come for you, and it will show you a world that's just beyond my reach. It will open up a part of you that you never knew and were always missing. In spite of all the questions you'll have, things will start to make sense...
Fuck. Look how you've got me weeping to think of such a thing. It's time for you to go now. Mind the Shadow, and mind the Abaddon.
You'll find out soon enough.

((OOC: This is a brand-new plot I'm starting up. If you would like to be involved, I'd love to have you! Modern setting with supernatural elements in it pulled from a variety of sources, including my own crazy little mind. This is going to be a low-powered game to start, so if you'd like to play, come up with a normal human person like yourself. Send me a message with your character idea, and we'll go from there. I expect this to be a game for adults, so please be advised that there will -- obviously -- be coarse language, mature themes, and violence. If this is not your cup of tea, you have been warned. If you're interested, c'mon over!
