The Camelot thread in Morthika is looking to finally get kicked in the ass again with the arrival of the player for King Mark of Cornwall. Lady Guin and her crew have arrived at the front gates of Cornwall, and the tournament is set to take place in two days time. As the castle of Cornwall is a bustling hive of activity, it is a perfect place for anyone to introduce a new character into what is looking to be an exciting plot. We need any type of character into Camelot that you think would blend in well with the ongoing plot. People to play knights are in high demand, as well as noble people, peasants, etc. There is no limit on subplots of any kind, so as long as we are not limited by our imaginations or the lack of keen players, we could get something pretty huge happening.
A reminder to Lady Elaine and Sir Dagonet, that I really need them to post as soon as they can. I’m going to carry on and auto them if I need to until they are able to post, but postage would be loverrrrrly. I will also be autoing Lancelot until he is able to post himself. Also.. need to find out what’s happening with our villain.. *grins at Poe and bats lashes* we need to talk girl. I ALSO REALY REALY REALY NEED TO FIND SOMEONE TO TAKE ON THE ROLE OF KING ARTHUR. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, please let me know here, via PM or on AOL.. thankies
For the tournament itself, I’m seeing it as a grand and glorious festival. Just so we are on the same page here, I will tell you vaguely what I had pictured for Cornwall and the tournament... maybe it will help form a picture in peoples minds and help them to see the potential for this plot. *crosses fingers and hopes so*
First of all the Castle of Cornwall is surrounded by a large brick barricade with towers, small windows and guards on every ledge. A drawbridge lowers over a deep moat to let someone into the main courtyard. This is the hive of Cornwall, a constant marketplace for wares, weapons and whatever anyone might need. In normal times there is approximately 20 stalls, while the time of the tournament sees it filled to capacity with over 200 stalls. Small, narrow alleyways are used by the people to make their way about the busy marketplace. Because of the amount of people present, the King has put in a request that all horses be checked at the stable before they progress into the main courtyard, with two mounted guards riding out to approaching carriages or riders to inform them of this request. At the back of the market place, there are two large wooden doors, flanked by two burly guards. While a few smaller and excessively locked doorways can grant entry, this is the main entrance into the castle and admittance is given only to knights participating in the tournament and the lords and ladies on the Kings "list". These people would be given the best accommodation within the castles walls - the knights will be sleeping in the high end of the servants’ quarters, while the lords and ladies are offered rooms within the palace. Visitors are welcome to come to Cornwall on the days of the Tournament, however they must seek and find their own accommodation.
The stable area has been modified to take up the two adjacent lots of land, and this is also under heavy guard given the calibre of some of the horses housed there. The stables themselves are reserved for the knights’ horses' with each horse having its own stall under the banner of their knight. The yard to the side of the stables are reserved for the horses belonging to the upper class and who’s owners were able to afford the admission price of four gold coins. The back yard, which is the largest and most barren of the three areas, is for all remaining horses going into, or belonging to Cornwall.
The palace itself is entirely up to the King Mark, as it is his home, so I will encourage him to post up a description here when it comes to him. All I request is a large area for the King and his guests to feast and watch entertainment on the nights leading up to, and during the grand tournament. The tournament itself, needs to be discussed again as it kind of got lost in the bullshit when we last tried to decide what events would be there etc.
So please, this is my last impassioned plea to see my beloved plot get the rping action it truly deserves. I am open for new ideas if anyone has anything they would like to pitch.. just please peoples… COME AND PLAY WITH ME!! *whines like a little kid and bribes with gummi berry juice and pink post –its.*
