The Kindred of Clan Ventrue have a reputation for being honorable, genteel, and of impeccable taste. From time out of mind, Ventrue has been the clan of leadership, enforcing the ancient traditions and seeking to shape the destiny of the Kindred. In nights of old, Ventrue were chosen from nobles, merchant princes, or other wielders of power. In modern times, the clan recruits from wealthy "old money" families, ruthless corporate climbers and politicians. Whatever their origin, Ventrue vampires preserve stability and maintain order for the Camarilla. Other Kindred often mistake this for arrogance, or avarice, but to the Ventrue their sheepherd's role is more burden than honor.
Ventrue support the Masquerade wholeheartadly, feeling that under it's auspices, the best existance for all vampires may be obtained. To the Ventrue mind, other clans are brash and impetuous. Too concerned with their short term comfort, other vampires gladly give up an eternity tomorrow for a bit of vitae tonight. Without the Ventrue, there would be no Masquerade' without the Masquerade, there would be no vampires. Thus, the Ventrue have the weight of Atlas upon their shoulders. They bear their burden with a stiff upper lip, and just a hint of noblesse oblige. No other clan could lead the Children of Caine in the nights of imminent Gehenna - or so the Ventrue are apt to say. After all, their reputation rests on it.
Ventrue see themselves as nobles in the classical sense of the word, fighting to uphold the station of those below them. They are the kings, knights, and barons of the modern nights. Although the struggle has moved from battlefields to boardrooms, and from jousting lists to voting districts, Clan Ventrue continues the duel. Young Ventrue rally and lead the troops with their cellular phones and limousines, while the clan elders watch the horizons for threats that loom like storm clouds. Many holdings under Camarilla control are overseen by Ventrue, and the Blue Bloods are loath to relax their grip over endeavors they so desperatly struggle to maintain. Reputation and achievement take a Kindred far in the Ventrue clan, bt none of that counts if the vampire cannot mantain his influence.
Other vampires often cast apsersions on the Ventrue, vilifying them as sanctimonious, pompus, or even tyrannical - and yet, it is the Blue Bloods to whom these vampires turn when something goes wrong. Ventrue cultivate influence and - when they can - control the kine's media, police, politics, health, and medicine, organized crime, industry, finance, transporation and even the Church. When another vampire requires aid, the Ventrue can often provide it - for a price.
Naturally, Ventrue gravitate to the upper crust of Kine society, where their sophistication serves them in good stead. Although Ventrue move in the same social circles as the Toreador, they do not fritter away their existances in frivolty and idle chatter. The Ventrue proudly wear the privileges of leadership, and stoiclly bear it's burdens. Thus has it always been; thus shall it always be.
Ventrue cultivate classical, traditional appearances. Set in their ways, Ventrue vampires often affect the styles of their breathing days, and one may frequently guess a Ventrue's age by determining from which period of history her clothing dates. Young members of the clan tend toward fashion ranging from "preppy" styles to omnipresent suit and tie wardrobes. Ventrue are elegant and stylish, but rarely on the cutting edge of couture or halberdashery trends. After all, one must stand out, not stick out.

I realize i forgot to add this one ahead of the Ventrue and Tzmisce
Whether dreaded, mistrusted, feared, or reviled, the insular vampires of Clan Tremere are anything but ignored. Those who have heard of the clan's doings are typically suspicious of the Tremere, and with good reason - for the Warlocks are aptly named. Through their own artifice, they have mastered a form of vampiric sorcery, complete with rituals and spells that is as potent - if not more so - than any power of the Blood. Paired with the clan's rigid hierarch and the smoldering ambition so common among Warlocks, this power is an unsettling thing thing indeed to those who know what the Termere are capable of doing.
According to some Kindred records, the Tremere came into being as a clan very recently, atleast by an immortal's standards. Legend has it that during Europe's Dark Ages, a cabal of human wizards enacted a great ritual over the slumbering body of an Antidiluvian and thereby wrested for themselves the gift of vampirism. War followed soon thereafter - the fledling clan found itself besieged by enraged Kindred on every side. But the Tremere are nothing if not survivors. THeir human magicks lost, they nonetheless managed to alter their rituals and wardings to utilize the power of their vitae. These magical skills, now practiced as the Discipline of Thaumaturgy has ensured the Tremere's place among the Kindred ever since
The Warlocks gladly play the games of diplomacy and intrigue with their newfound brethren. However, their dealings are always tinged with a touch of paranoia, for the Tremere know that the elders of now fewer than three clans bear them a terrible grudge that has yet to be repaid. Therefor the Tremere work to cultivate what allies they can, even as they strive to heighten their magical mastery. No less is required for their survival. As a result, the childer of Clan Tremere are among hte most driven and learend of all Cainites; few cross these undead sorcerers and escape unscarred.
The Tremere are vampires of the Old World, but have traveled across the continents to establish footholds elsewhere. The clan's seat of power lies i Vienna, where the Tremere elders convene in council and discuss the clan's future direction. But many larger cities across the globe house Tremere 'chanties' - well-defended houses that are eual parts university, monastery, and stronghold. There the Warlocks gather to exchange information and study their vimpiric witchcraft, safe from the attentions of their rivals.
The sorcerous Tremere are typically imposing or sinister in mien. Some favor classic suits, others prefer a slightly more antiquated look, dressing in 1940s-cut suits. Edwardian finery, or the simple black turtlenecks of the Beat era. Many wear charms or amulets inscribed with cabalistic or other arcane symbols, as a sign of their learning. Although individual Warlocks may run from the gamut from immacuately precise to disheeveled and eccentric, the vampiric sorcerer's eye always gleam with hidden insight and frightening acuity.

The New Year has begun in America, it is !889. People still talk about what the read in the papers, that there had been a murderer that people called Jack the Ripper in England. That he had never been caught. Naturally these rumors are the life blood of any country or city. The United States is still in the slow process of recovering from he Civil War and the abolishment of slavery. In the North, people look toward the future, wondering what the years leading up to the new century will bring.
In the South, appearance wise they are in the process of rebuilding. Atlanta is still in ruins, though people are working at clearing away the rubble. There is almost a palpable tension in the air, from the newly emancipated slaves and the southerners. Murders are not that uncommon with African Americans as the victims. The police make appearances of looking into it, but all can tell that it is just that, looks, with no real investigation behind it.
In the west, tensions are rising, and rapidly as the Western movement is encroaching on Native American land. America at this time, is still not quite strong enough to face another battle with the Native Americans so soon after it's own costly war. The Union military is stretched thin, and it would not take much to cause everything to come crumbling down, on one side or another.
To make matters worse, ex Confederate Officers and soldiers have moved out into the West to escape punishment for the crimes they committed. They aid the Native Americans on their battles with the Union forces, either with guns, or manpower, or by going with them on Raids.
For the Kindred, this is a chance of opportunity. new businesses and companies are forming, and for those wanting to get away from their Elders, America is the place to do it, in the state it is in. Mortals feel much the same, for those who want to disappear. They come from all walks of life, and from around the world as well.
There has been a resurgence of activity where the Battle of the Alamo took place some fifty years earlier. No one is quiet sure what is happening out there, but those who draw too close are attacked by wolves, and howling can be heard almost nightly in the surrounding area.
Elsewhere in the world is much in turmoil. In Australia atrocity after atrocity is committed upon the Aborigineese people, a great deal of which the Kindred are influencing. Any Kindred coming from the area would know of the war going on at night, that kine have no idea about. Great crocodile shape shifters and a breed of Werewolves who attack Kindred and their servants relentlessly. The favor is returned, for the most part unseen and unnoticed by the Kine and their own actions.
The rest of the world has their own troubles, The Dark Continent is in a perpetual state of war. Much the same in South America, though there is little word exactly what about that leaks out. The 'Civilized' world for the most part, seems to have tired of war for the time being. There are hot spots that pop up, but they are generally kept quiet.

Alright, so this campaign is going to run the gamut of settings. It can stay in what is currently the Union, or it can expand westword, with the settlers pushing back the Native Americans. It can go back to Europe, it can go to Australia, where the Mokole and Bunyip fight against Vampires, ignorant and abusive British settlers, and Black Spiral Dancers.
By the same token, your characters can come from anywhere in the world, as i have said, it is still a rather tenueous point in time for America where the Story is going to start. This is the later portion of the Victorian age, and for the most part, i am going to try to stay as historically acurate as i can...or until i get bored and decide to make history my bitch.
I am not going to force a strict by the books vampire character sheet, mainly because Mori and others who join in likely have never ever played VtM and i don't want to force people away because of that. Generation wise, pretty sure Generation would be obvious what it means, how many steps away from Caine the character is. I would prefer it if people were around 7th-9th or 10th gen. 3rd generation are Antideluvians, and they are all dead, or asleep. 5th, with some good reasoning and convincing, i will allow Methesulah. Keep in mind, a 5th gen is going to have been born in the EARLY Dark Ages, 1300s or so. So if people decide to go for a 'younger' vampire i would think probably 7th or 8th would be the 16-1800s i think. Vampire Embracing habits aren't notoriously the best to gage timelines by.
If people have questions, either ask here, or PM me or get me on AIM and i will answer them...
