(( For those of us who prefer live RP in the chat rooms, majority of us are used to rping in a tavern setting. As the Dragons Den actually does have a tavern, I thought this would be a good base for Morthikas official chat room setting.
Please keep in mind that this is rough and mainly in point form, as I wrote it in a few minutes. I intend to edit it and add more as it comes to me, but for now I suppose it serves its purpose. Also, if there is anything else that people would like to have in the tavern for their character to use, please let me know here and it can be added.
So yeah ... this is going to be the official setting of the Morthika Chat. If you find yourself about to RP with someone unfamiliar with it, please refer them to this link. Many thanks.. ))
SETTING: A large, dense forest surrounds a small clearing. At one end of this clearing, there is a large granite mountain, its one visible wall covered with a thick layer of moss. As a patron approaches the moss however, it draws back to reveal a large oval oak door. Situated above the door is the small statuette of a silver sleeping dragon. If the person is merely seeking a drink at the Dragons Den Tavern, the dragon will remain undisturbed and allow the door to open to reveal a winding staircase that leads down into the darkness. Although the spiral staircase does have three burning torches mounted on the wall at various locations, the staircase is still quite dark for the most part. At the bottom of the staircase another large oval oak door appears. This is the door to the Dragons Den Tavern.
Carved out of the bottom of the mountain, the Tavern features stone walls, propped up by large planks of oak. A long rectangular oak bar fills up one side of the tavern, while ten round oak tables are placed in various positions around the main room. A large fireplace consumes most of the south wall, while four separate doors lead off to other areas of the Den. If the patron requires it, the Tavern can provide a various assortment of ales and liquors all served with a friendly smile by Aridawn the barkeep. Food is also available as long as the patron does not mind waiting for Aridawn to prepare it himself ( He seems to have difficulty finding good bar staff)
A room can be provided upon request, and if the patron is prepared to meet the scrutiny of the silver dragon statue outside, then they may also be treated to a tour of the Dragons Den.
The Den is the home of one of the oldest crimson dragons Mirtedaur, and houses an extensive library with every book known to beast and man. An avid traveller, Mirtedaur is always travelling to the far corners of the world and returning with rare scripts, texts and books. He also collects trinkets, weapons, gems, talismans and anything else that he thinks might prove useful in future endeavours. As he literally has millions of objects, he is not adverse to sharing his good fortune for a reasonable fee to an honourable soul. However, if someone comes to the Den with less than honourable intentions, the sleeping silver statuette will bar their entry into the Den. They are given one warning to leave immediately before Mirtedaur himself arrives to assist the wayward soul on its way.
