Sparrow Leinad[/u]
It was supposed to be a fresh start, a new job, working for a living... that would be.... different. New village, new city... new country, Nobody told Sparrow about the war.
The Smoke filled her senses, threatening the choke the life out of her. Demons roared around her, the sound of metal against metal was loud in the air. Sparrow shrieked as she ducked an arrow, She pulled her long thick black hair into a quick bun behind her head and started to beat her wings, she lifted off the smoldering rubble and tried to fly as high as she could, the smoke swirled around her, She coughed and sputtered, the smoke and fire was to thick and hot to fly through, she tumbled from the air, hitting the ground, blinded by the smoke. She heaved her tiny body out of the mud; her once alabaster skin was covered in an inch of grubby dirty and ash.
She had to think fast, she reached out surprisingly strong hands and held onto whatever flew past her, a boot... She was only a little thing anyway, about 30cm tall, tall for a fairy. She wore a green tunic that wrapped around her chest, leaving her arms and midriff exposed; her short yellow skirt was dirty and ripped. She was barefoot as always.
Sparrow held onto the crude leather as hard as she possibly good, She let go, sensing danger and rose into the air, but she was too slow, a large filthy rand, lowered from the heavens, grabbing hold of her and knocking the wind from her body. She struggled fruitlessly, the creature’s breath was almost enough to kill her then and there.
‘Ooh pretty little bug, give kissies!’
The Ogre said happily, he lowered his head towards Sparrow, teeth gnashing. She really was one of the most beautiful creatures imaginable, most Faes were of course. Sparrow did the only thing she could think of, she craned her neck forwards and bit into the creature’s finger, he let go, just as an eleven woman ran past him, slicing his neck open with a silver whip. Sparrow screamed and flew; she closed her eyes and flew, with everything she had.
The sounds of battle were muffled, she opened her eyes slowly, the edge of town, their were dead charcoaled bodies littering the ground, she blinked back tears and headed towards the only building she recognized, the Curiosity Shoppe. The owner lay slumped near the entrance, dead.
Sparrow pushed the front door open. It was empty, it had been looted yet, Sparrow made her way inside and with a heave, closed the front door and locked it. Sparrow blew out all the lanterns and hid in an old grandfather clock.
She was home... a fresh start. [/color][/b]
