Morthika is comprised of many different players, of many different ages and with varying degrees of ability and knowledge of RP. It is one of the things that makes Morthika what it is and we wouldn’t want it any other way. Together, we refer to ourselves as Morthikans, but what, you may ask, IS a Morthikan.? And WHO are these people?
The community is made of various different groups:
Us Oldbies.. the original Morthikans that started this crazy ride. We came from another Rping community called The Mystic Tavern that unfortunately splintered off into other RPG’s, and Morthika was the world that we created to play out our stories. Of course, the more stories we created the more characters we had to play until we were just stretched too thin and decided to open our doors to the outside world in search of talented and dedicated Roleplayers with a love for the game that we all shared.
Gen X were the ones that fortunately found their way here, a group of players aged between 17-20 who impressed us with their writing ability and their love of what we feared might be a dying art. They brought a fresh sense of creative output and with them, we began to play out the stories we loved creating together.
Since then, many new faces have appeared. Some have stayed, some have wandered on. Out of those that stayed, some have again impressed us with their writing ability though they have asked for help with perfecting their craft, while some new players are brand new to the art of Roleplaying and have come here to learn from the rest of us.
Regardless of what group you yourself may be a member of, we ask that you always consider your other Morthikans and where they may be in regards to the “Roleplaying ability ladder” (for want of a better term).
As most of us literally cant stand poor spelling, bad grammar or poor attention to detail, we ask that if you are going to take the time to post then you also take the time to re read through your post at least once, making spelling and grammatical checks as you go and making sure your post is legible and articulate. It makes reading your work much more enjoyable for everyone concerned.
Please be aware that everyone has their own style of Roleplaying, another thing that makes us so special. Some of us are very descriptive writers who could spend a whole paragraph describing what dress their character is wearing, while some writers are more quick witted both in technique and style. If someone’s ability or style does not match your own, simply see it as another form of RP you had not considered before and just enjoy RPing as that’s what you are here for. If we all played the same type of character with the same abilities in the same style as each other, then Morthika would be a lot more boring and dull then it is now, so let your creativity flow and lets have some fun RPing.
