Its been lovely chatting to you all again and some of you have even expressed an interest in trying to reboot Morthika in 2017!!
I think considering the fact that we are all adults with busy lives, we should limit ourselves to one main story for the time being. Something that all of us can play in, that can spark substories but can also continue regardless of if there are 10 active players or just 2.
Over the past few days, I have spoken with a few of you and the general consensus is that we want to start a new story from scratch so we don't have to read a bunch of content or try to fit in around an old storyline.
That said... what do you guys want to play?
I have heaps of ideas for new stories involving current/old Morthikan characters, but I think we need an epic, over arcing story to guide us and keep us moving..
Looking over the most popular threads, we seem to have a few regular themes. We can either go with one or these, or come up with something different? Possibly a combination?
For example:
We have been werewolves, vampires, witches, zombies, aliens, pirates... the list goes on. We normally separate them into particular stories and realms, but we could play something where anything goes?? I remember we tried it in the past and it always worked well (as long as there was limitations), so we could try that again...?

I KNOW!!! LOL Me too. Considering what a huge part of our lives our writing used to be, its no wonder we miss it.
So we need to come up with a story babes..

We should try and do a big epic story, a single story with a start, middle and end, they always went well in the good old days.

Hmmm... don't shoot me, but I am being heavily influenced by the brilliance of Joss Whedon lately... Firefly in particular. I like the idea of different worlds or realms.. some are quite primitive and have limited technology, some are more than advanced. You can have any world you like, which lends itself to a never ending source of different realms to play in.
We could incorporate our Deepdweller Gulch thread (Wild West/vampires/aliens) with our pirates.. Instead of space ships we have large, mechanical pirate ships... it could be quite interesting?

Have you all seen Defiance? It's like a sci-fi futuristic western with alien races trying to live alongside humans.

So Pirate ships, that slice through the sand like they would on water. We can work some kind of dimension travelling thing too...

So I just had an idea while I was driving my two Labbies to the vet... I do my best thinking trying to drive while wrangling two large, drooling hounds!
Hows this...
Our story could start in a wild west town. We would need townspeople, a sheriff, a blacksmith, shop owner and whore house/salon (I got that one covered). Although it appears just like a wild west town, all is not as it appears. The whorehouse has vampires, the sheriff could be a demon hunter....etc... possibilities are endless.
We could stick with the Deepdwellers Gulch vibe where a group of miners have unleashed something by digging underneath the big mountain.. either they find demons or aliens.. not sure yet.
BUT... the thing is .. this wild west world is just that... a world. There are many others in the galaxy, and to get to the different worlds you have to take a ship. Ordinary ships would then exist, but we would also have pirate ships. I think it would be cool if the western people didn't know anything about all that.. they just think their little world is it.
So perhaps the western people dig up something.. an old relic... a talisman... a portal to another hellish realm.. I dunno.. something important. Not only does it have a huge impact on the people in the western world, a group of Pirates get wind of it and arrive in their pirate ship. They have access to technology the western guys have never seen before.. but they aren't used to the vampires... so its a mixture of both worlds coming together to fight the common enemy/win the prize etc...

The main story would be the Western World though.. the Pirates and anything else can be added on later. I just want to have an over arcing story line where I can potentially bring the Pirate story to this story, if that makes sense.
