K peoples... Anyone wanting to join our sci fi/western/vampy/ magicky thing plot.. now's the time!!
All you need to know is.. its set in a wild west town. Most townsfolk appear as human... some have extra special abilities. About two weeks ago there was a huge earthquake as an ancient evil was released from beneath the earth after a recent mining accident.
The town is in the stages of rebuilding. The saloon fell down during the earthquake and unfortunately the flying pieces of debris and wood turned my vampy whores to dust so I'm recruiting new whore's if you need a role to play.
Look forward to writing with you crazy cats again!! Yeeeee hah!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO! What about other plots -- any plans for resurrecting stories like Parapsych Park or that kickass Roaring '20s thing we had? I just want to wriiiiiiite with youuuuuuuu (but western-style anything, much like country music, is way too far out of my wheelhouse).

I thought so, too, Leetah. I don't know the first thing about cowboy stories and I fuckin HATE country music (and I live in cowboy country!). But I'll write for it, for the love of the story. Besides, it can be good to push against your boundaries, eh?
Maybe try what I did: put on some cowboy rock, and let your mind wander. You might surprise yourself.
That said, I'm down for either of those ideas! I was having a grand time in PP, and still have a few ideas for Prohibition. Count me in!

Give me a few days to see what I can come up with for a story/world. Work is killing me right now, and I have sick kids at home on top of things, so I'm a bit drained atm.
You guys want historical with some fantasy elements? When I run a story, I usually do some NPCs that everyone can hit up for info-stuff, or set it up for canon characters that are plot driven/important and let people tailor them to an overall idea, and give them a goal, or something to do IC for the plot. That sound good with you all, or you wanting straight up open world/slice of life?

This sounds FANTASTIC! I'm down.
(Also, has anyone else been flipping through all the plots -- like, just reading EVERY old thread they were involved in? Stumbled across the "Dial Z" story a few minutes ago and SWEET LORD, was that one fun! You guys kicked so much ass there, the writing was superb and the adventure was thrilling. Ah, memories...)

I am too! To have such a high-energy plot, fraught with ass-kicking obstacles and such beautiful camaraderie! Such different, colorful characters! I got SERIOUSLY excited reading through it again!

Well, we could always borrow a little bit from King. Maybe a Mid-World style realm where the boundaries between the worlds have begun to fail. The townsfolk are periodically transplanted to a world very similar to their own...only with some very major differences.
The plains where the cattle should be is instead a long since abandoned community from a future time period, spiraling along the terrain like a blight, inhabited only by the dead and those who refuse to do so. The only ones who suffer a worse fate than disappearing entirely, are those who return to the small town breeding the volatile mutagen in their blood; a ticking time bomb of disease and deadly abomination.
The forest where the lumber was once harvested is now morphed, blackened by a magic that calls forth all manner of the Supernatural. Though not entirely as dangerous as the other breaks in time, this forest has inhabitants with human appearance and intelligence; thus these creatures pose a much more political threat, as not all men are what they appear to.
Mountains have become bitter cold, grasped by an everlasting winter that brings with it self-contained blizzards that leave you in a blinding white, hearing only the roar of the wind...and other things. Some who venture up the range tell stories of lost kingdoms and giant flying reptiles. Some only have stories of a large man like beast whose claws shear flesh from bone in a single swipe.
Above the town, something large hovers silently. From below its hard to distinguish its shape other than circular. Climbing peaks reveal a little more vertical form, much not much. However for one hour and forty five minutes every day, starting at two o'clock p.m. the object blots out the sun entirely; casting a nighttime like shadow across the entire region. The fact that its shadow can cover so much terrain leads us to believe that whatever it is, it is pretty massive in size.
Where the once highly profitable Mine used to be is simply an enormous reinforced door, slightly ajar to reveal and glowing light within. Through this subterranean entrance you would enter a city so vastly technologically superior that biological life has been entirely outdated, therefore exterminated. The only inhabitants here are machines, incredibly smart machines who sole purpose is to create more machines; creating technology with no purpose, or expiration. It would be widely believed that this city in all of its infinite creations somehow damaged the universe and allowed the mending of the worlds to begin with.
Though the townsfolk see new people coming and going pretty consistently, many of them find it impossible to leave. No matter how far they travel and any direction through any terrain, when they give up and return home; the trip is just a couple hours to town center.
The only relief from this is the fact that these anomalies are not permanent. Though there are times where all the worlds meld and reality is just a memory being drowned in Whisky while riding a Dragon over a horde of zombies on your way to a Terminator style Armageddon while trying your best to not Wolf Out when the moon rise. Other times, you plow your field, tend to your cattle, and enjoy the Magical, biological, and technological rewards for your survival.
