Hey Dudes and Dudettes,
I've been thinking about this one for a while and one of my favourite books inspired me somewhat. I have another idea for what I hope will be some interesting RP, what the basics of the story is… Oz, Know we all know the story farley well, but my idea is to make it a little more real world, it's the same, there's a yellow brick road, Dorothy, the tin woodsman, The Scarecrow and the Lion, but more realistic shall we say. My OZ will be much more violent and much more hardcore, no happy Shinny people and all that stuff. Heavily influenced by 'Wicked' but even more… 'bloody'.
The Story will start with Dorothy going back to OZ, older and a warrior; her magic silver slippers are now knee high silver magic boots. Her friends are all scattered all over the place, they all eventually come together to battle some kind of evil. Elphaba the Wicked With of the West is still dead, Ozma the child empress reigns after Dorothy defeated the Nome King and all is apparently well, eventually throughout our story we come to realise all is not well. Now this is just very basic, if anyone has any questions or want to add anything I would love that and please do it, it will only work if it has LOTS of interest. And I want lots of input cause at the moment it's just a concept.
A little more brutal than Wicked and the original Wonderful Wizard of OZ, but not as sick as 'the twisted land of oz' if anyone's come across the toys.
I haven’t worked out if it should be set in modern time or still in the old days but I'm thinking the old days, lets say 1909.
Does that make a lick of sense?
I shot gun the Lion but so far the characters that are up to be picked off are:
Dorothy Gale
A considerable amount older, Dorothy is bored with life and longs to return to Oz to see her old friends again, she has a feeling of some impending doom and soon realises she must return to Oz if she is ever going to be able to rest again. Dorothy has long dark hair. And while in Oz she wears the magic Silver boots given to her by glinda when she killed the wicked witch of the east.
The Tin Woodsman
The Tin Woodsman is a flight character, good with an axe but terribly emotional, he is able to close his 'heart' off and feel simply nothing, but it never really lasts long, the Tin Woodsman is the ruler of the Winkie country. Handy with an axe and abused when he was human because The Wicked Witch of the East The Tin Woodsman was bewitched to slice of his own limbs with his axe and then have them replaced with tin parts until there was simply nothing left but tin.
The Scarecrow
Intelligent and cunning the Scarecrow has no idea why he is alive, briefly the ruler of Oz and now the adviser to Queen Ozma he is her right hand, he never strays to far from the empress and lives in the emerald City.
Jack Pumpkinhead
The Timid former pumpkin was brought to life by the Witch Mombi to entertain her; he is a tortured soul who suffered unspeakable torture and abuse from the now dead witch. Pumpkinhead is shy and scared of most things; He lives in the Emerald City with Ozma as his guardian. Jack was rescued from the witch by Dorothy.
The Gump
The Gump is a creature created by Dorothy when she was escaping Mombi's palace, The Gump is a term used for animals that resemble a mix between Elk and a moose, but this Gump is was simply a mounted Head tied only two couches pushed together and a broom for a tail and ferns as wings. The Gump transported Dorothy around Oz, but upon his request was disassembled, may not be playable as he's just a moose head… ;D
Tik-Tok
Tik-Tok is a mechanical man, He is somewhat of a solider and protects Dorothy with everything he has, he is wound up periodically to function, mind, action and speech. He is incapable of ANY Emotion.
Glinda The Good Witch of the South
Is the most powerful sorceress in Oz, she is slightly snobby but is very intelligent and good natured.
Ozma of Oz
Is the current ruler of Oz, she is about Dorothy's age with blonde hair; she usually wears a tiara of flowers and is very pretty. Intelligent and wise, she is a politician at heart and her ancestors ruled Oz throughout the ages.
The Cowardly Lion
Not so Cowardly anymore the Lion lives in the forest where he helps protect all the other Animals (Animals being intelligent creatures able to speak, animals being our animals, notice the big and small A's) He becomes a witch hunter through the years and loves Dorothy with all his heart.
